How to read it
D must eliminate every O player within 2 ticks. In each tick everyone moves, the formation is read, and each D player may hit one exposed O player inside its sphere. Shielded players only become hittable once the players around them are gone, so a formation is peeled from the outside in.
Exposed O player. Can be hit.
Shielded O player. Inside the formation with every link around it supported, so it cannot be hit.
Eliminated. Fades out.
D player (blue diamond). Its translucent sphere has radius r: the range of its hit.
Supported link (shorter than 2r) in the formation's triangulation.
Unsupported link (2r or longer).
Nerve. Two D players who could hit the same O player, so they must agree who takes it.
Hit. White when it eliminates, amber when wasted (someone else hit that player), red when blocked (the target was shielded).
The phases of a tick
- Move. Everyone moves at once. O flees the nearest D player while keeping its formation together.
- Attack. Each D player may hit one exposed O player within its sphere. All hits land at the same moment.
- Plan. The survivors are read again. This is the picture D plans the next tick from.
The readout shows the dimension of the formation's shape: 3 with four or more survivors, then a triangle (2), an edge (1) and a single point (0).
